When a young girl named Laine McAlister is sexually assaulted in the stairwell of her apartment building, Detectives Olivia Benson and Eliot Stabler visit her in the hospital and discover that she has a large gash on her hand. Upon further investigation and a conversation with a shady man who says he’s her boyfriend, they begin to thing that she may have made up the story in order to get attention. Things get even more intense and the detectives find themselves in a race against time to find a witness and get a testimony.
