Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows (2011) Review
The cast save this movie, period. The relationship that has developed between Downey Jr and Law as Holmes and Watson is exquisite to watch, and you get the impression the true friendship also exists off screen. There is a deep level of respect and understanding between them, and you want to buy into it.
Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows (2011) Review
Following a voice over from Dr Watson (Jude Law) a sudden and completely ludicrous fight scene erupts, with a needless and tedious slo-mo build up that then hurtles us head long into the same kind of stomach churning, super fast editing and overblown choreography that we were force to suffer in the first movie.

Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
This film is the latest chapter in the weird afterlife of the author Stieg Larsson, who died in 2004 from a heart attack. Since then, this posthumously published novel, the first in his Millennium Trilogy, has sold over 30m copies, and has also spawned a successful film version in Swedish in 2009.
Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
The snow is falling heavily outside, the river has frozen and inside it is positively Baltic. Daniel Craig turns in a typically winning performance as the disgraced journalist from Stockholm, Mikael Blomkvist, who has accepted a commission from the wealthy industrialist Henrik Vanger (Christopher Plummer), a loner who lives in the far north amid numerous brothers and sisters that he can't even be bothered to speak to.

Review of Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol
Thanks to his presence, Ghost Protocol feels like a return to the late 1980's and early 1990's and the films that turned Cruise into the Hollywood powerhouse that he is today. The addition of Simon Pegg to the cast gives the film just the right amount of quirky humor to lighten up even the most dramatic of moments, and never distracts from the heart pumping thrills that are relentless.
Review of Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol
Fans of Harry Potter will no doubt vote the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 as their top action flick of 2011, true action fans will have Ghost Protocol firmly at the top their lists. This film starts with the introduction of a new IMF team; Jane is played by Paula Patton and Simon Pegg is Benji, the engineering whizz.

Review of Albert Nobbs (2011)
This gives a subtle hint of what is to come, and gives a glimpse into the much deeper issue of class differences and the ambiguities, the latter of which provides much of the wit of Albert Nobbs. Nobbs is a waiter/butler is a posh hotel in Dublin, and lives in a small room at the top. He's a hard working individual who lives an innocuous life while all the time guarding a huge secret; Albert Nobbs is really a woman.
Review of Albert Nobbs (2011)
From the instant Dr Hollaran (Brendan Gleeson) and Albert Nobbs (Glenn Close) share a moment at a costume party for which neither of them have a costume, the scene is set for this thought provoking story. They are without costume for entirely different reasons; the good doctor has no time for frivolity and Nobbs is in his work attire as even when there are events staff need to stay in their uniforms.

Review of The Adventures of Tintin (2011)
The Steven Spielberg directed 'The Adventures of Tintin' is a roaring adventure film that rollicks along at a cracking pace and is sure to captivate both children and adults across the world. Originally a comic book series from Belgian writer Hergé, this film version has been written by Egar Wright, Joe Cornish and Stephen Moffat, and they perfectly capture the essence of Tintin.
Review of The Adventures of Tintin (2011)
This investigative journalist is impossibly young and irrepressible who is, in turn, innocent, adventurous and intelligent, his age only belied by his ginger head fin. Spielberg worked closely with Peter Jackson, who will be directing the sequel, and the pair used the latest motion capture technology in order to create an animation that jumps off the screen in its 3D format that gives comic characters life an closes the gap between reality and imagination.

Review of Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol
Even though there are minor references made to the previous films in this franchise, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol feels less like a sequel and more of a reboot. With Brad Bird at the helm, this film delivers an epic sized display and the intense action is non stop and serves to keep the adrenaline at a high. The return of Tom Cruise is welcome and he reminds us of what an old fashioned action hero is all about.

Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
Thanks to expertise of David Fincher at the helm, the film noir has turned distinctly white with this stealthy, and steely adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The staples of the genre are all here, we have familial corruption, sexual sadism and murder, and Fincher has cast them all into a maelstrom of intrigue on a private and remote island where large pale houses loom starkly against the large pale sky.

Where Can I Watch New Year’s Eve (2011) Online Free
This new movie seems to be pretty much the same thing as Valentine’s Day and it follows several plotlines coming together and there is a great deal of sentimentality involves. If there was an award for mushiness in a movie then this new one would take it. It is emotionally manipulative and is designed to play on the heartstrings and little else. It is an uncomplicated production and seems just to be a repeat of what was done in Valentine’s Day

Review of Carnage (2011)
Carnage is based on a French play called 'God of Carnage' which instantly limits it location wise. This does, however, give the director scope for stylish flourishes, and while the like of Michael Bay would have made the most of this opportunity, Polanski ignores it completely and everything is just...there.

Review of Carnage (2011)
Polanski's checkered past is enough to have some reviewers refusing to watch his movies, with some taking the moral high ground. The line is blurring here between life and art, and his personal life shouldn't really have anything to do with the movies he turns out. By viewing Carnage as a stand alone movie without considering who the director is, it is clear that there is very little to it overall, and what there is, is very monotonous.

Unusually for a bio-pic Corman is still very much alive and kicking, he is now in his 80's and along with Julie Corman, his wife and career long production partner, ranks high on the list of the most prolific movie makers in the world. They have produced and then released as many as 9 features in a single year, and only the vast minority have failed to turn a profit in box office receipts.
